Dear VF United Travel Soccer Club members,

                The VF United Board of Directors has been informed that Victor Parks and Recreation Department, in consultation with the Victor Town Board, intends to levy a usage fee against our club for our use of the soccer fields in the Town of Victor.  The proposed fee is $9.00 per hour.  Based upon last year’s usage, this would result in a total additional $3,500 cost to our club, or $XX per VF United travel soccer player as the travel soccer portion of our club primarily uses the Town of Victor Fields (Dryer Road, and Village on the Park)

                Two years ago we were able to avoid this field usage fee when the Victor Town Board implemented it without consulting our club, or any other clubs that actively use the Town fields.  With our concerns at that time the Town Board retracted their resolution to implement the fee.  We were then told they would work with us in determining something that was more equitable and in line with our financial calendar so we would have time to plan for this in our registration fees.  At their December 14, 2009 meeting the Victor Town Board voted unanimously to implement an Athletic Facility Use fee for 2010 amounting to $9.00 per hour for the soccer fields we use in the Town Parks.  At the December 14,  2009 meeting we requested the Town Board refrain from voting on this proposal until we and other clubs have time to work with representatives of from Victor Parks and Recreation Department to discuss this matter further.  VF United has already made an investment in the Town Parks soccer fields in that we own the goals and nets.  Also in comparing what the Town of Farmington charges for the soccer fields we use in their Town Parks (Mertensia, Pumpkin Hook, and Farminton Town Hall) equal to $1.00 per soccer player per season we find the Town of Victor’s proposal to be excessive. 

                The VF United Board of Directors is preparing an appeal to go back to the Victor Town Board and ask them to revisit their Facility Use Fees.    We appreciate your time and attention and will keep you apprised of this issue.
